Remains Discovered in Vehicle Registered to Singer D4vd Confirmed as Disappeared Teen
Officials in the US have confirmed that decomposing a body found in a vehicle registered to artist D4vd have been identified as a missing teenage girl.
Police officers located the remains of Celeste Rivas inside the boot of an seized Tesla on September 8, after investigating reports of a strong odor at a Los Angeles tow yard.
Authorities stated that both the cause and date of her demise remain unknown.
Rivas, a resident of Lake Elsinore in California, was 13 years old at the moment of her disappearance and was last seen on April 5, 2024, according to a public flyer.
Earlier, officers noted that the Tesla had likely been at the tow yard for "several days" before the discovery.
The car, which bears a Texas license plate, was towed from the Hills area after being abandoned five days earlier.
The car is registered to 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, the legal name of recording artist D4vd.
Last week, the coroner's office stated that the individual whose body were found was 157cm tall, had wavy black hair, and was clad in a tube top and black leggings.
It was noted that the body had a inking on the right forefinger that read: "Shhh."
The body were not intact, and it seemed the teen had been dead for an extended duration of time, per police sources.
D4vd, who has a large number of fans on online platforms, is most famous for his viral songs "Here With Me" and "Romantic Homicide".
He launched his debut album in April and was on tour when the body were discovered in the Tesla. The tour's planned show in Seattle on Wednesday was called off.
Authorities say that D4vd is working together with the investigation.
